National Women’s Coach and Girl’s’ Program Head Job Vacancy

Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all cricket structures and programs in Namibia. Cricket Namibia will advertise the position of National Women’s Coach and Girls Program Head. Applications are now open to suitable qualified and experienced candidates.

JOB OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be the Head Coach of the National Women’s team and lead a team of coaching staff to prepare the team for international tournaments. The candidate will also be responsible for the coordination and development of the girl’s cricket program.

JOB SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be wide-ranging and broad and in line with the Cricket Namibia’s Strategic Plan for female cricket development. These include activities relating to the National Women’s team, player pipeline, talent identification, program coordination and coaching in development programs. Key responsibilities include but is not limited to:
1) Head coach of the National Women’s team.
2) Coach and administrator of the female player pipeline.
3) Coordination of female development programs and female academies.
4) Training and development of coaches in the female cricket structures and programs.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of coaching international women’s teams.
• Working in a High-Performance female cricket environment.
• Facilitating, coaching and coordinating female and girls cricket development programs.
• A minimum of an international accredited Level III coaching qualification.
• Candidate must be willing to be based in Windhoek.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The main areas of responsibility under the job specifications are classified below:

1) Head coach of the National Women’s team.

  • Lead a professional team of support staff.
  • Prepare the national women’s team on a full-time basis.
  • Women’s team to perform at current standard or better during international tournaments and bilateral competitions.

2) Coach and administrator of the female player pipeline.

  • Monitor and track players in the pipeline.
  • Arrange regular training camps and coaching programs.
  • Work with Regional Centre coaches to identify and coach women and girls in the program.

3) Coordination of female development programs and female academies.

  • Drive the girls development program throughout the country.
  • Arrange camps and festivals.
  • Handle all logistics of the program.

4)Training and development of coaches in the female cricket structures and programs

  • Develop Namibian coaches to coach girls and women’s cricket.

BASIC SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The basic skills and relevant experience required for the position:

• Good communication skills on written and verbal mediums.
• Skilled in logistics of events and day-to-day arrangements.
• Pro-active planning
• Be able to work with a team of professionals and in an office environment.
• Computer literate and efficient on Excell.
• Compilation of documents for distribution.
