Cricket Namibia proudly announced the commencement of its highly anticipated youth cricket tournament, the National Schools Week, held from November 29th to December 9th, 2023. Established in 2020, this annual event aims to provide unparalleled playing opportunities for the nation’s best young cricketers while nurturing their talent and promoting the 50-over format.
Building on the success of previous editions in 2020, 2021, and 2022, the fourth installment of Cricket Namibia’s National Schools Week promises to be even more captivating. This year’s event will feature the finest boys’ teams selected from each of Namibia’s primary cricket-playing regions: North/East, Coastal, and Central.
A total of 12 players will be chosen for each age group – under 11, under 13, under 15, and under 19 – to represent their respective regions, earning recognition for their exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. Notably, selected players will gain valuable exposure to high-level competition and the opportunity to showcase their skills in the longer 50-over format.
The tournament structure will see the participation of teams from North/East, Coastal, and two Central teams in the under 11, under 13, and under 15 categories. Additionally, a Schools XI will be assembled for each age group following the conclusion of the National Week, highlighting the standout performers from across the country.
