Day one of the roadshow was a great success.
It was overwhelming to see a group number of children that participated in the FNB Kwata clinic as it has exceeded Cricket Namibia’s expectations.
Stephen Baard, Picky Ya France, Karl Birkenstock, Bernard Scholtz and Sylvia Shihepo of the National players are part of the first group that toured to Okahandja and Otjiwarongo (and is continuing to Outjo). Learners were proactive and engaged well while they were coached by the National players.
The players worked quiet close with the participants and they are expecting to get more players joining the National Age Groups from the schools that they visited as they see a lot of talent from some learners that participated in the FNB Kwata clinics.
Cricket Namibia has a coaching manual of its own and would like for teachers to take part of a coaching coarse to implement the game of cricket and teach the learners during the Physical Education period on how to play cricket.
We would like to thank the schools in Okahandja that took part in this initiative. Thank you so much to K W von Maree, Okahandja Primary School, Berg-Op Academy and Edugate Academy for a great time in Okahandja and Otjiwarongo. Cricket Namibia conducted FNB Namibia Kwata clinics, skills session, a coaching coarse and a scoring coarse? We thank Village Boutique Hotel for sponsoring accommodation for us, thank you for being part of this journey with us to create awareness of cricket in our country.
Cricket Namibia wraps up the northern trip on the 14th November in Outjo and drives back to Windhoek on the 15th November.
