Day 1 of the Women’s week in Walvisbay produced brilliant individual performances. The highlight of the day came from the very promising young batter from Blue Waters 1 Mekelanye Mwatile with an outstanding 103 of 71 balls against Outjo 1.
Namibian international player Adri van der Merwe started the tournament with a well struck 90 of 63 balls for Pro-ed 1 vs Blue Water 2. Two more half centuries came from the bat of Jorinda Fourie 66 of 62 and Alice KaukungwaTg 68 of 42 balls.
In the bowling department Sylvia Shihepo, Kayleen Green and Didi Foerster all took 3 wickets a piece for Zebras 1 vs Blue Waters 2, while Alice Kaukungwa of Blue Waters 3 took 4 wickets for 23 runs against Pro-ed 2.
Sonja Siepker from Zebras 2 took 3 wickets for 8 runs against Pro-ed 2
Riani Esterhuizen from Pro-ed 2 took 3 wickets for 6 runs against Zebras 2, and Mercia Rabie from Pro-ed 1 took 4 wickets for 7 runs vs Blue Waters 2.
