Vacancy: Development Officer

Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all cricket structures and programs in Namibia. We are proud to announce a new vacancy for a Development Officer of the cricket Namibia pipeline. The purpose of the position is to drive level performance culture by providing structure to deliver successful players.

JOB OBJECTIVE

Responsible for, amongst other things as required by the employer, the effective execution of the Ashburton mini – cricket program

The coach will be responsible for the following key delivery areas:

  • Effective execution of the Ashburton mini – cricket program
  • Coordinating logistics and travel
  • Data capturing and compiling reports  
  • Successful implementation of Windhoek administrative structure to assist in the coordination of the program.
  • Coordination of the annual Festivals and coaching courses
  • Compiling and delivery of activities on the annual planner for the program me – course, refresher courses, meetings, festivals and forums
  • Assess and ensure that the standard of the Ashburton mini-cricket is maintained in all the schools
  • Coordinate to the distribution of playing equipment to the schools structure
  • Perform administrative duties including drafting of fixtures
  • Co- ordinate festival, fun day and coaching courses
  • Arrange venue for meetings and games
  • Monitor and support schools in executing the annual planner – mainly courses
  • Ensuring scheduled fixtures take place within adequate and safe surrounding

DATA CAPTURING AND COMPILING REPORTS

  • Maintain the database of registered / participating schools, coaches and players
  • Compile and submit status reports on fixtures, matches completed, new schools added, schools no longer participating, initiative to drive good behavior and sustainable of the program

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPRIANCE

  • Level 1 CSA
  • Level 1 ICC
  • In-depth of cricket knowledge of the game
  • A minimum of 5 years working in the sports development program  
  • Experience working with players between the age of 6 to 13  
  • Experience working with schools (Headmasters & teachers)
  • Experience in doing coaching courses and growing the number of coaches in schools

BASIC SKILL REQUERMENTS

  • Computer literacy skills inclusive of outlook, word and excel
  • Professional communicating skills both verbal and electronically
  • Driver’s license
  • Time management
