Cricket Namibia are pleased to announce the appointment of Albie Morkel as a specialist coaching consultant with effect from January 2019.
Albie is one of the most recognised names in world cricket. He is an exceptional all-rounder batting left handed and bowling right arm medium fast. His explosive and uniquely destructive batting is renowned at the highest levels of cricket both internationally and at the IPL. He has had an extraordinary career and has represented South Africa in 58 ODIs between 2004 and 2012, 50 T20s between 2005 and 2015 and in 1 test in 2009. In addition to his 50 international T20 matches, he has also played a further 318 T20 matches and is considered to be one of the most experienced limited overs cricketers in world cricket.
During his career he has scored a total of 13 770 runs in various formats, taken 742 wickets and bowled 27 800 deliveries. His experience is immense, varied of the highest standard. During his career he has represented Easterns, the Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Durham, Somerset, Derbyshire, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Rising Pune Supergiants and Durban Heat.
