Patricia Kambarami, Inspirational Leader and Pioneer for African Cricket, Passes Away

It is with great sadness we learned about the passing of Mrs. Patricia Kambarami, head of ICC Africa. Patricia, Mamma Pat, as she was referred to by all African Cricket Members, oversaw the development and progress of cricket in all African countries. She was a pioneer for progress, expansion and performance of cricket in Africa. A highlight in her career would have been the success of African countries on international arena, claiming all six (6) ICC Awards at the 2023 ICC Conference.

Patricia had a passion for cricket in Africa, with the ultimate drive that cricket in Africa should take it’s rightful place in world cricket. “She was an inspirational leader, who lead with empathy and conviction. Patricia was an incredible friend and supporter of cricket in Namibia and Cricket Namibia as an organisation” (Daneel vd Walt – CN Board member). Her support to our organisation has been enormous and she has been instrumental in securing Namibia as co-hosts to the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup. She will indeed be missed!

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends in this difficult time.

She will be forever in our thoughts!
