National School Week Finals

Cricket Namibia hosted a successful National School Week tournament whereby Namibia top players from various cricket playing towns participated in a 50 Over competitive tournament.

The tournament was participated by u11s, u13s, u16s and u19s. The teams that participated are Central, Coastal, Northern and South East at the various cricket grounds in Windhoek, while the u13 boys played at the Sparta and Oval fields in Walvis Bay.

We appreciate the support from our sponsors, XCO Namibia and APS for continuously supporting Cricket Namibia in its journey to grow the game of cricket in our country.

The closing ceremony was held at the Wanderers Cricket Club where the event was attended by parents, players, Men’s National Headcoach Pierre de Bruyn, National Men players and Assistant Coach Albie Morkel.

Pierre de Bruyn commended the Eagles for their involvement in the National School Week as they inspired Namibia’s future Eagles.

Pierre de Bruyn : “Tonight I want to talk about DREAMS. As a young man sitting here, you all have lots of dreams, which is fantastic and exciting. I want to tell you about a dream, The EAGLES Dream. Its been a dream come true.”

In Jan 2019, Eagles had a dream; April 2019 that dream came true, and then in October 2019 the dream of going to our first ever T20 World Cup came true. The dream of being a full time professional cricket player in Namibia playing on the world stage IS STILL ACTIVE AND ONGOING.”

De Bruin added, “I want each and every player here to start this dream with us to play for the Eagles one day. The biggest lesson I have learnt over the past two years as a coach of the Eagles, is that DREAMS DO COME TRUE.”
