Job Advert: Cricket Services Manager

Job Overview:

The Cricket Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance,
and commercial activities of the international cricket stadium and general Cricket Services. This role
ensures the highest standards in field maintenance, equipment management, event coordination,
commercial venue operations, and cricket stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Non-match day:

1.1. Field Maintenance and Upliftment

  • Ensure the playing field meets international cricket standards for all matches and training
    sessions.
  • Develop and implement turf management plans, including irrigation, fertilization,
    aeration, and pitch preparation.
  • Collaborate with ground staff and external specialists to improve playing conditions and
    stadium facilities.
  • Oversee maintenance of outfield areas, drainage systems, and stadium landscaping.

1.2. Equipment Management

  • Maintain and manage stadium equipment, including pitch covers, rollers, mowers, and
    irrigation systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and servicing of ground maintenance machinery and tools.
  • Ensure the proper storage, inventory, and procurement of field-related equipment and
    materials.
  • Implement health and safety procedures for equipment use and storage.

1.3. Event Setup Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate logistics and set-up for national practice sessions, school and club
    games, ensuring timely preparation of the stadium.
  • Oversee the installation and removal of temporary structures, scoreboards, and branding
    elements.
  • Develop contingency plans for adverse weather conditions or operational challenges.

1.4 Coordinating Ground Staff for Efficient Functioning

  • Lead, train, and supervise ground staff to ensure smooth stadium operations.
  • Develop staff schedules and work plans for both match-day and non-match-day
    operations.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
    Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and professionalism among the team.

2. Selling, Coordination, and Setup of Conference Venues

2.1 Market and manage stadium conference venues for corporate events, meetings, and special
functions.
2.2 Coordinate with clients to ensure smooth event execution, including seating arrangements,
catering, and audiovisual requirements.
2.3 Work with commercial teams to drive revenue generation through venue hire and
sponsorships and recreational activities
2.4 Ensure that conference venues are maintained to high standards and provide excellent
customer experience.

3. Key Responsibilities – Match-day Operations

3.1 Event Management:

Coordinate and oversee all match day events.

  • Liaise with teams, vendors, and security personnel to ensure smooth event
    execution.
  • Develop and implement incident management, contingency, and crisis
    communication plans.
  • Conduct pre-match briefings and post-match debriefs with staff.

3.2 Facilities Management:

  • Ensure the stadium and its facilities meet statutory compliance and health and safety
    regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance tasks such as pitch preparation, mowing, and watering.
  • Manage and monitor activities of contractors working at the stadium.
  • Implement systems for facility management and record-keeping.

3.3 Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise ground staff and other personnel.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff activities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for staff and visitors.

3.4 Budgeting and Procurement:

  • Handle budgeting and financial planning for stadium operations.
  • Procure necessary supplies and equipment for maintenance and events.
  • Monitor and control expenses to stay within budget.

3.5 Community Engagement and Marketing:

  • Promote the stadium and its events to the community.
  • Engage with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance the stadium’s profile.
  • Develop marketing strategies to attract visitors and sponsors.

3.6 Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.

  • Develop and enforce safety protocols for staff and visitors.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.

4. Key responsibility: General Cricket Services

4.1 Coordinate with umpires, coaches, and cricket stakeholders to ensure improved
coordination, effective communication and excellence.
4.2 Engage with key cricketing bodies and associations for alignment on regulations and standards.
4.3 Provide logistical support for cricket programs.
4.4 Facilitate communication between stadium management, coaches, programs and officials.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event management.
  • Strong knowledge of cricket and cricket stakeholders.
  • Experience in event planning, logistics, and venue sales.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
