Announcement of the 2019-2020 National Elite Training Squad
Cricket Namibia is very excited to announce the Elite Men’s Squad for the 2019-2020 season. It is a very exciting squad that is balanced with youth and experience. Looking ahead there are exciting tournaments ahead of us and this Squad has got the ability to make the Nation proud. Captain Merwe Erasmus will lead the team which have newcomers such as Divan la Cock and Jan I de Villiers. JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, Pikkie Ya France are senior players that have gained a lot of experience over the past few years.
In September The National team will take on USA and PNG in the USA to start off the CWC Division 2 League which means that the National Team will play a minimum of 36 ODI matches over the next 3 years.
The National team qualified for the Global T20 World Cup qualifier in Dubai which will be played towards the end of October 2019. This is the last hurdle to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2020.
