- 1991 selected as captain for the FIRA Rugby World Cup (France) and Namibia Schools Cricket team - 4/90 against the Netherlands at the age of 16 years - 2/94 in ICC Trophy tournament, in Kenya - 3-4/97 in ICC Trophy tournament, in Malaysia (- captain in Namibia's last three matches) - 5/97 established the Namibia Cricket Academy, together with Deon Kotze, in Windhoek) - 6/2001 in ICC Trophy tournament, in Canada as the captain of the National team (- team qualified for the 2003 Cricket World Cup) - 2/2002 relinquished the National team's captaincy (to vice-captain Deon Kotze) - 3/2003 represented his country in the Cricket World Cup in South Africa - 7/2005 in ICC Trophy tournament, in Ireland (retired afterwards from cricket, due to a back injury) - 3/2006 appointed as interim national selector. ![]() Mel van Schoor Born:

- 3-4/97 in ICC Trophy tournament, in Malaysia - (ended in eighth place amongst all the bowlers, with a broken thumb!) - 6/2001 in ICC Trophy tournament, in Canada - (member of the winning team who also qualified for the 2003 Cricket world Cup) - Achieved bowling figures of 10/3/28/7 against the visiting side of South African Country Districts, on 29 March 2002-3 - 4/2003 represented Namibia during the Cricket World Cup (in South Africa) - (he shone with a good bowling performance of 10/2/43/5, against England (in Port Elizabeth, South Africa) - he took the wicket of the world renowned batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, bowling him in the Namibia versus India match (in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa), with Tendulkar's score on 152) - Suffered a back injury, which resulted in his retirement from cricket in 2005. ![]() Gavin Murgatroyd
